Ed Landry Mirliton Variety (chayote, “Sechium edule”)

Ed Landry of Donaldsonville, Louisiana. Very Healthy plant located on traditional agricultural land. This soil is rich yet well drained. Note the leaf polymorphism (several different leaf shapes on same plant). This is a unique evolutionary trait of Sechium edule. Also makes it a bit more difficult to identify varieties by leaf shape alone.
