Clear Containers with Mirliton planted fruit (chayote, “Sechium edule”)

This is an experiment to see what root growth looks like in a container. This is a soil-less medium with liquid fertilizer. The mirliton is an imported one. Generally, I found that the roots run very deep if that is the only option, which means that mirlitons can be container grown if the soil is well drained and aerated. The large roots are a sign of the plant searching for more gas and water pores, so the cheaper soil creates a few big routes that lack the hair roots for nutrient and water uptake and gas exchange.----
Grown is different media, On the far left in "garden soil" and second from left is Talpa mix. Second from right is miracle grow mix, which performed the best.
